Neil Williamson - President
A true pioneer in the CGI industry, artist, director and entrepreneur Neil Williamson founded Calibre Digital Pictures Inc in 1987. With the mandate of blending traditional artistry and technique with emerging digital imaging and production processes, Calibre grew to become Canada’s most innovative and successful Digital Animation and Visual Effects Studio thru the 1990s.
After 13 years of leadership, and many dozens of international awards for creative excellence and technical innovation, Neil sold Calibre Digital to Alliance Atlantis Communications in 2001 and left the company to pursue several personal projects.
In 2004 he co-founded Invisible Pictures Inc a Visual FX Boutique servicing the feature film industry and recently formed Turning Heads Entertainment Inc; a content development & management company.
Neil is a founding director and current president of the Computer Animation Studios of Ontario (CASO) a regional trade association established in 2005. He is committed to the continuing growth & viability of the sector with a focus on international marketing & promotion and the promotion of a strong collaborative production community with-in the region.
